I should be studying...

...but chose to spend a bit of time with Catherine and the kids, instead.  Much better!!!

Nothing new to report.  We've had a string of rainy days this past week, and today the skies cleared up.  I wanted to get outside for a bit, so we drove to a local park not too far from the house, and walked around for a bit.

I brought my camera with me to help document the sun and fun.

It is a fairly new park, so shade was hard to come by.

Another family was celebrating a birthday, so we didn't stay too long after our walk.  The kids did get to play on the playground and burn off some steam.

For whatever reason, I think the photo above makes Ian look tall.  We are both breaking in new hiking boots, and his boots are only a 1/2 size smaller than mine!

Have a great day everybody!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

We had a nice service at church this morning, followed by a quick easter egg hunt at home, and now we are waiting for Catherine to finish cooking lunch.  I made sure to get a photo before the festivities began.

Yesterday was a bit of a bust, weather-wise.  It was cloudy and windy all day, and we struggled to hit 65F.  But Friday was a different story!

We headed over to Fredericksburg in the Texas hill country to go check out the wildflowers and to go see Enchanted Rock State Park, a pretty big pink granite dome.

The weather was foggy/cloudy/drizzly in San Antonio, but by the time we were 20 minutes north and west, the clouds broke up and the sun was shining.  We drove the Willow City Loop, enjoying the flowers and the views.  As we made our way to Enchanted Rock, though, the clouds started filling back in.

I was hoping to catch a nice sunset on the back side of the dome, but the clouds were too thick, and after getting the kids to the top, I decided that the clouds wouldn't break, so we just played around a bit on top of Enchanted Rock before heading back down and home.

The kids had a great time climbing on the rocks and enjoying the views.

As we made our way out, the sun did manage to break through for a couple of minutes, lighting up one of the granite peaks in the distance.  I scrambled over the rocks to set up my camera and take this photo.

Have a great day everybody!
