photos of the kids

We had a bunch of rain yesterday and today, so not much new from the Skinners in Maryland. The rain did eventually stop and we had some blue skies - the sun felt terrific - this afternoon.

We picked up the house and a whole slew of other chores, while Leah had a Girl Scout "thinking day," where they learned about other countries.

By the time she got back, I was ready to take some photos of the kids. If you are detecting a pattern, I am trying to get them in front of the camera once a week. That will stop sometime this summer when they head off to camps, but I'll still try as best as I can.

Snow Day...again

We had another snow day today. It didn't start snowing until about 7 this morning, but it went gangbusters for a couple of hours. We had about 2 inches in the first 2 hours, with 5-6 inches overall. It is freezing rain/sleeting right now, so we'll see how long the snow lasts.

We have the best neighbors in the world! The husband has a snowblower, and he got our driveway. He saved us easily a couple of hours of work, as the snow was wet and heavy.

Afterwards, I thought I'd get some photos of the kids, since I didn't do that this past weekend.

Ian and I had gone camping with his Boy Scout Troop, but he got sick Saturday, so we had to come home early. He got in some shooting, but missed out on some more on Sunday. Fortunately, he is feeling better.

Waiting for the Storm

Another week!

Ian had a church camp with his youth group this weekend, and we went to meet him this afternoon. It sounds like he had a very nice time.

While he was gone, Catherine, Leah, and I went to go check out a bookstore in Baltimore...bad idea. It was practically the "kids, roll up your windows" scene from "National Lampoon's Summer Vacation."

Other than that, it was a nice, relaxing weekend.

Once we got back from picking up Ian, I decided to get their photos. I am still looking for some props for Ian - I found a couple this weekend for Leah (she really doesn't like the hat).

Other than that, we are waiting for another winter storm tonight. It should only drop a couple of inches of snow, but it looks like we'll have a good bit of ice to go along with it...yuck.

Super Bowl Break

I thought I'd take a break from my darker/moodier stuff and take a stab at some lighter/funner stuff.

Leah wore this shirt to church today, which was my inspiration to try something lighter.

I had to get Ian to change into this hoodie - but I think it did the trick.

Otherwise, nothing terribly new here. The sun came out and melted off 90% of our snow - looking forward to more reasonable temperatures this week.
